Well Rupert, I am really sad to re read this. Being in adjacent offices in the tower and sharing Marion his secretary gave me the opportunity to form a good relationship with him,we did get on well, although he couldn't always get the accent! A real gentleman,I was fond of him and his gentle manner. Just imagine the changes he would have seen in California over his lifetime, mind boggling. Happy you took him to lunch last year, well done.
